WASHINGTON, D.C (KTIV) -
Chances are, if you have a green thumb, you've already been digging in the dirt planting flowers, maybe some fruits and vegetables.
At the White House, gardens are a tradition. From the Rose Garden, to first lady Michelle Obama's "kitchen" garden.
Today, that "kitchen garden" has 55 varieties of vegetables spread out over 11-hundred square feet.
But, the message goes beyond green beans and tomatoes. Sam Kass, White House Assistant Chef says, "The first lady planted this garden to start a conversation around food, and where it comes from, and how to make sure that we're feeding our kids, and our families, as healthy food as we can."
Friday night on "News 4 at Ten", we conclude our special series of reports from the White House. The man, who cooks for the Obamas, shows us what growing in the White House "kitchen garden."
