
Michael Lang had four hits in Sioux City's 3-1 win over Winnipeg on Friday night.The Sioux City Explorers won their third straight game on Friday, 3-1, over Winnipeg. The X's have now won seven of their last nine games to improve to 15-14 overall. The Goldeyes fall to 18-9.
Sioux City scored a run in the bottom of the first. Brandon Newton led the inning off, turning a routine single into a hustling double. After he was sacrificed to third, Newton scored on a single from Michael Lang.
The X's added to their lead in the third. Lang doubles to right-center to put runners on second and third. Lang was a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate. Catcher Ray Serrano then drove in Yusuke Inoguchi with a long sacrifice fly to right and the X's led 2-0.
Alain Quijano earned the win on the mound for Sioux City. The lefty gave up eight hits and one run over six innings.
The four game series continues on Saturday night at 7:05 at Lewis and Clark Park.
