Body found in Missouri River, authorities say it could be missing Crofton man

NEAR YANKTON, S.D. (KTIV) -

Authorities believe they may have found the body of a Siouxland man missing since last Saturday.

Just after two Saturday afternoon, the Yankton, South Dakota police department received a call that a body had been discovered in the Missouri River.

The Yankton Search and Rescue team retrieved the body one mile East of the Discovery Bridge.

That is where 47-year-old Jeffrey Potts was last seen a week ago.

The body had clothing similar to what the Crofton, Nebraska man was wearing when we he went missing.

An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.

Saturday, family and friends organized a search for Potts. Authorities say it was a member of that search crews that found the body.
