SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
Sioux City is now one vote away from a 21% water rate hike.
The increase would be broken up as seven-percent increases each of the next three years.
The city says the increases are necessary to pay for state-mandated projects like the new water treatment plant.
Monday night, city leaders gave second round approval for the hike. It needs to be approved three times before it goes into affect.
