SIOUX CITY (KTIV) -- -
The third-ranked Bishop Heelan softball team stayed undefeated with 5-2 win over #15 Sgt. Bluff-Luton on Monday night.
The game was tied 2-2 after five innings but Heelan rallied in the sixth. With two on and two out, Maddie Heaton lined a double to right center to drive in Makayla Augustine and Jessica Brown as the Crusaders took a 4-2 lead.
Ali Martin followed with a two-out single to left to give the Crusaders a 5-2 lead.
Heelan pitcher Larissa Uhl closed it out, grabbing a grounder to end the game as the Crusaders improved to 22-0.
"SBL's a very good club and we were just really excited to beat them," said Uhl. "We came out and played hard and it really helps that our defense and offense always comes through every game."
"We knew it was going to be a tough game," said Heelan senior Krissy Neumann. "We just came and knew we had to be ready to play because it was going to be a good seven inning battle down to the wire."
