Authorities: Man assaulted with baseball bats

NEAR NEWELL, Iowa (KTIV) -

Two people have been arrested after police say they hit a man with baseball bats.

Authorities in Newell, Iowa were alerted to the situation when someone called for help around 4 Sunday afternoon.

Buena Vista County sheriff's deputies located the two men a few miles down the road.

They're identified as Eric Evers and Kyle Konradi, both 25 years-old from Alta.

The have been charged with assault with intent to commit serious injury.

Evers was also charged with drug charges in an unrelated incident.

The name and condition of the man who was assaulted, is not being released.
