SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -

A Woodbury County, Iowa jury has found Brad Gregg not guilty of involuntary manslaughter and assault causing serious injury following a fatal fight outside a Sioux City bar.

Gregg's first trial ended with a hung jury.

Prosecutors said a fun night on 4th Street, turned deadly for victim Joe McDonald. They claim his wife, and Gregg, exchanged insults that night. McDonald spotted the two, intervened, and was punched in the face.

But, the defense put three witnesses on the stand that didn't testify at Gregg's first trial. They all claimed it was the victim McDonald who threw the first punch in the fight along Historic Fourth Street, in Sioux City.

The jury, of five men, seven women, and two male alternates, deliberated for four hours before reaching its verdict shortly before 4:00pm, Tuesday afternoon.

The trial lasted five days. It was expected to last as long as ten days.

We'll have reaction to the verdict, tonight, on "News Four", and online at www.ktiv.com.
