SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
Preparations are underway for the Relay for Life this Friday at Memorial Field in Sioux City.
So Tuesday, the committee put the final touches on some 600 bags, which will be illuminated with candles.
The purpose of the event is to honor those whose lives have been affected by cancer.
Those who take part either walk or run.
The survivor lap is at 6 p.m.
"Everybody knows somebody with cancer. And if you come that night, you might, some of your friends might be there, some family you don't know that might show up because of one of their friends," said Kim Beltz, Relay for Life volunteer.
There's still time to join. You can show up at the event to walk or donate.
Bags are $10 and will be lit around 10 p.m.
