SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
A Sioux City man has been sentenced to more than 16 years in federal prison for his involvement in a meth distribution conspiracy. 30-year old Sangvang Mekdara pleaded guilty last December to three counts related to receiving methamphetamine and re-selling it. On at least one occasion, it happened within one-thousand feet of Cook Park.
Mekdara was sentenced to 199 months imprisonment on each of the charges to be served concurrently. He must also serve ten years supervised release after the prison term. There is no parole in the federal system.
