SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -

You can get insight into an amazing inventor and artist.  The Sioux City Art Center is hosting a sneak preview for the Leonardo da Vinci exhibition.

Three objects from the exhibition are already on display, including designs of a paddleboat, a tank and pulleys.

"da Vinci is the type of artist/engineer. He's an original renaissance man. He represents the combination of science and the humanities." Al Harris-Fernandez, the Sioux City Art Center Director said.

The exhibition will include dozens of inventions, 23 painting reproductions, films about Leonardo's life and music composed by him.

Art Center curators say the exhibit will show off some of da Vinci's greatest ideas.

"We're very excited about this opportunity to see how ideas can translate both into paintings and into actual workings of today," Todd Behrens, a Sioux City Art Center Curator said.

The Art Center is also looking for volunteers to help with the exhibition.

The Leonardo da Vinci, New Blockbuster Exhibition opens July 14th and runs through October 14th.

The cost is $10 for adults.
