SIOUX CENTER, Iowa (KTIV) -
It's been a goal since it first opened. The Greater Sioux Community Health Center has achieved the status of being a federally qualified community health center.
Located in Sioux Center, the Greater Sioux Community Health Center first opened in 2008. The number of patients its serves has grown to more than 3,000.
Wednesday's announcement also comes with word it's receiving a $595,000 federal grant and a recommendation to receive and additional $650,000 next year.
The federal money helps fund preventive and primary health care offered, including prenatal care.
