KTIV's Kristie VerMulm makes surprise appearance on "The Tonight Show"

BURBANK, Calif. (KTIV) -

A surprise came on a late night talk show for one of our own. KTIV's Kristie VerMulm got some national face time last night when The Tonight Show with Jay Leno showed a clip of one of our newscasts.

The Tonight Show spoof came from a story we aired about Mitt Romney piloting a riverboat during his campaign.

They added their own take on the story by adding some funny video.

Kristie had no idea it was coming and said it was a shock to see herself on Leno.

Many of you wrote on our facebook page you caught a glimpse of her after the news.
