The Wichita Wingnuts padded their lead in the American Association's Central Division with a 13-4 win over Sioux City on Friday night. Wichita has the best record in the league at 26-8 and have a ten game lead in the division.
The loss was Sioux City's fifth in their last six games. The X's are now 17-19 on the season.
After falling behind 4-0 in the second inning, Sioux City scored two runs in the second and sixth innings to tie the game at 4-4.
Sioux City starting pitcher Andrew Snowden was replaced in the seventh with the bases loaded and reliever Eddie Delacruz gave up a three-run double to put Wichita in front for good, 7-4.
The third game of the four game series will be Saturday night at 7:05 at Lewis and Clark Park.
