Graphic design student lays out vision for children's museum

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -

Blue, pink, and lime-green hands slapped the outside wall of the future site at 7th and Pearl streets

The idea of a Children's Museum has been in the works for sometime but is now taking off. The children contributed to the mural design that was laid out by Iowa State graphic design student, Irene Lopez.

"I decided to just start sketching and coming up with ideas," said Lopez.  "And I looked at their logo, and I decided to elaborate on the gears. So, I kind of just decided to just make a flowing motion with gears so it looks like they're moving playfully.

Lopez, a native of Siouxland, will add drawings to the mural sketched up from local kindergartners.
