Frederick Bruno (#2) scores a touchdown in the Bandits' 68-24 win over Kansas on Saturday.
SIOUX CITY (KTIV) -- -
The Sioux City Bandits won their 26th straight game and finished the regular season undefeated, beating the Kansas Koyotes 68-24 on Saturday night.
The Bandits trailed 18-15 in the second quarter and then got hot. Running back Sean Treasure scored on a three yard touchdown run to give Sioux City a 29-18 lead.
The Bandits got the ball right back and wide receiver Frederick Bruno scored on and end-around from 10 yards away to make it 35-18. After a safety and a 29-yard field goal from Nick Hope, Sioux City led 40-18 at the half, scoring 25 unanswered points before the break.
"The offense did what we had to do, we scored on most every possession, except for one," said quarterback Scott Jensen. "We didn't have any turnovers, no mistakes. We played Bandit football like we're supposed to play. I think today we had a great time. We had fun, we scored when we wanted to. We moved the ball, running, passing, everything was perfect to me."
The Bandits will host their first round playoff game in two weeks, possibly against this same Kansas team.
"We'll go one game at a time," added Jensen. "We'll probably have to play them in the playoffs, so we just got to keep doing what we're doing."
