 Press conference for lawsuit over LFTB controversy postponed

We'll have to wait a while longer to learn the details of a lawsuit being filed by a former employee of Dakota Dunes-based Beef Products Incorporated. Bruce Smith has postponed a news conference he had scheduled for this afternoon at company headquarters. No explanation was given for the postponement and no new date was given. Smith says he lost his job because of the controversy over Lean, Finely Textured Beef and said he is suing a "national news broadcasting company," and other individuals involved.

Man arrested in Omaha suspected of SC home invasions

Sioux City police believe the suspect wanted in three home invasions in town is now in custody in Omaha, Nebraska. 35 year-old Jason Barrow was arrested in Omaha on a burglary charge, but Sioux City police believe he's the man who committed home invasions on May 25th in Sioux City where sexual abuse took place. Sioux City police say Barrow has not yet been charged in the home invasions.

Sioux City water rates rise

Expect to pay more for water. With a decision last night water rates went up in Sioux City for the 7th year in a row. Sioux City's City Council voted to approve a seven percent rate hike that starts next week on July 1st. Rates are also set to go up 7-percent in 2013 and 2014. They say the increases are necessary to pay for state-mandated projects.
