WINNIPEG, Manitoba (KTIV) -- -
For the second straight night, the Sioux City Explorers came close but could not defeat Winnipeg. The Goldeyes rallied from a 5-2 deficit to beat the X's 8-7 on Tuesday night. Sioux City has now lost eight of their last ten games.
Trailing 2-1 in the third inning, Peter Barrows hit a grand slam homer to put Sioux City in front, 5-2. It was just the second game in an X's uniform for Barrows.
Sioux City (18-22) had to come from behind in the seventh to tie the game. Adrian Martinez scored on a ground out to make it 7-7. But the Goldeyes (23-15) scores a run in the bottom of the seventh to take the lead for good.
The three game series ends on Wednesday, with Andrew Snowden starting on the mound for the X's. Sioux City returns home on Thursday to begin a seven game homestand against El Paso and Gary.
