Royce White led ISU to its first NCAA Tournament in seven years.
Newark, NJ (KTIV) -
With the 16th overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft, the Houston Rockets selected Iowa State standout Royce White.
White is the 35th Cyclone drafted, and the ninth in Iowa State history to be taken in the first round.
He joins Connecticut guard Jeremy Lamb, who was taken off the board by Houston with the 12th overall pick.
Terrence Jones of Kentucky, was taken 18th overall by the Rockets and joins White in the Lone Star State.
Houston finished 34-32 last season and missed the playoffs.
White was a one man wrecking crew a season ago and was the only player in the nation to lead his team in scoring, rebounding, steals, blocks and assists.
The Minnesota native averaged 19 points and 11 rebounds in ISU's first trip to the NCAA Tournament in seven years.
White powered the Cyclones to a second round victory over UCONN, before falling to Kentucky in the third round.
