SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
Richard Salazar gave up seven runs on 12 hits, including a grand slam to Mitch Einertson as Sioux City dropped its fourth straight game 10-1 to El Paso Friday night at Lewis & Clark Park.
With the loss, the X's have now lost 10 of the past 12 games and fall to 18-24 on the season.
After the Diablos loaded the bases in the top of the third on three straight singles, Maikol Gonzalez opened the scoring with an RBI single of his own to give El Paso a 1-0 lead.
With nobody out, Salazar recorded three straight outs to avoid any further damage.
But two innings later the lefty loaded the bases again. After an RBI single by Reid Fronk to give the Diablos a 2-0 lead, Einertson followed with a blast off the scoreboard to clear the bases and give El Paso a 6-0 lead. It was a part of a six run inning for the Diablos.
El passed added three more in the seventh to open up a 10-0 lead.
Sioux City scored its only run in the bottom of the seventh inning on Kris Sanchez's RBI single.
