Ceiling fan causes Wakefield fire

WAKEFIELD, Neb. (KTIV) -

About 4:30 PM this afternoon, Wakefield, Nebraska Fire Department received a call about a house fire on the second block of Maple St.

The fire was in the attic, caused from an overheated ceiling fan.

Mutual aid was called in from Wayne, Allen, and Emerson for more man power.

No one was injured but there was some dehydration amongst firefighters.

Adam Ulrich, Wakefield Assistant Fire Chief, said, "There have been a few that have been just getting a little dehydrated. Nothing too bad they'll be fine in a matter of time. "

Firefighters fought some smoldering flames for a couple of hours.

There was no serious damage.
