Authorities: Woman makes plea after Norfolk, NE stabbing

Posted:

A woman involved in the aftermath of a Valentine's Day shooting of a Norfolk, Nebraska woman is pleading not guilty.

The Stanton County Sheriff's office says Connie Brooks entered the plea Monday to felony accessory charges.

Sheriff Mike Unger says Brooks was arrested after allegedly assisting in hiding accused shooter Carlos Arevalo-Martinez, which resulted in an hours-long standoff with authorities.

Arevalo-Martinez is accused of shooting Edna Gutierrez at her Norfolk home in February.

Brooks' trial has been set for September.
