Want to take a tour of Mount Rushmore without traveling all the way to the Black Hills? There's an app for that. A new mobile application called Mount Rushmore Virtual Tour allows people to explore the famous mountain carving and park grounds on their phone or iPad.
The application is part of a five-year partnership to digitally preserve Mount Rushmore. The virtual tour allows visitors to see the sculpture up close with maps, images and laser scans. An audio tour of the park is also available.
