LE MARS, Iowa (KTIV) -

A Northwest Iowa teen is hurt after colliding with a train in Le Mars, Iowa.

The police department says 17-year old Krystal Leach, of Marcus, Iowa cut in front of a Union Pacific train as she turned from Business Highway 75 onto 12th Street Southwest.

The collision happened near the HyVee grocery store around 7:40 Saturday night.

Police say the conductor sounded the horn to warn the vehicle, and the crossing lights were working.

The collision caused Leach's car to spin and wrap around the crossing light.

Leach was air lifted to Sioux City's Mercy Medical Center where her condition is not being released.

The two people aboard the train were not hurt.
