Kris Sanchez hit a two-run double in the 12th inning to give the Sioux City Explorers a 6-4 win over St. Paul on Tuesday night. The X's won three of the four games in the series to improve to 24-28. Chris Bodishbaugh pitched the final 4 1/3 innings to get the victory on the mound.
Sioux City scored four runs in the second inning. X's catcher Ray Serrano led off the inning with a solo home run to tie the game at 1-1. Mike Murphy then singled to drive in Tyler Goodro to give Sioux City a 2-1 lead. Brandon Newton's triple brought Ryan Priddy and Murphy home for a 4-1 advantage.
St. Paul scored a run in the third and two more in the fifth to tie the game at 4-4.
Richard Salazar threw the first six innings for the Explorers, giving up eight hits and four runs with four strikeouts. Salazar did not factor in the decision.
The Explorers are off on Wednesday and then start a four game homestand against Sioux Falls on Thursday night at Lewis and Clark Park.
