SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -

A CNBC study shows Siouxland's states are among the best in the nation for business.

Two in the tri-state region did better than last year, one did worse.

In the more than thirty years Midwest Honda, Suzuki, Kubota has been open, it's changed products, even names. But it's always been in Sioux City, Iowa.

Robert Oliva does sales for the business. He says Iowa fits them perfect.

"You have that Midwest lifestyle, you have good family values. I think that those things translate into a good market for any business," said Oliva.

He's in good company. CNBC just ranked Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota as some of the best states for business.

It's an annual study that takes into account a state's economy, friendliness of its government, and more.

This year, Texas tops it all, while Rhode Island comes in last. Siouxland's states had a great showing. Nebraska leads the three, at 6th place. South Dakota, 7th. They're both up from a tie at 13th place last year. Iowa took a small tumble. 9th place last year, 12th this year.

"Look at Iowa, South Dakota and Nebraska, we are the place to be," Barbara Sloniker, the Siouxland Chamber of Commerce's Executive Vice President said.

Barbara Sloniker with the Siouxland Chamber of Commerce says these states have been ranking high recently. She says success comes from a couple places.

"In the Midwest we kind of seem to be a little more steady then maybe the coasts. We don't have the big swings one way or the other. Also, the ag community, right now, is doing very well," Sloniker said.

In the study, the three get great marks for "Business Friendliness," "Cost of Business," and "Economy." But, Iowa struggles with "Workforce." Nebraska, "Technology." And South Dakota, access to "Venture Capital."

Even so, Oliva says his company has never considered leaving Siouxland.

"No it has not. I'd say that we've been doing business here, successfully, for a number of years," Olvia said.

Just to clarify, Midwest Honda, Suzuki, Kubota is owned by Brad Yoerger. Robert Oliva is one of the sales associates.
