SOUTH SIOUX CITY, NE (KTIV) -
The city of South Sioux City, Nebraska, has gotten the go ahead to make repairs to its boat ramp.
After last summer's historic floods, all ramps were closed to recreation along the Missouri River.
While many area ramps have been repaired for this summer's use, South Sioux's ramp has to wait for approval from FEMA.
After many hurdles, officials say they now have that approval.
Gene Maffit, South Sioux City Parks Director said, "This has been long awaited by the many boaters that enjoy the Missouri River."
The project will cost $300,000 dollars and should be completed this fall.
75% of the project will be paid for by FEMA, with more than 12% of the money coming from the Nebraska Emergency Management Agency.
