YANKTON, S.D. (AP) -

The Southeast South Dakota Tourism Association has launched a new website it's been working on for more than a year.

The group hopes that southeastsouthdakota.com helps boost tourism in the region.

Association director Jacquie Fuks tells the Yankton Press and Dakotan that the old website needed a makeover, and the new one allows staff members to easily handle changes and updates that may be needed.

The site includes a journeys section, allowing users to pick an activity of interest and find a list of related destinations. Activities include golfing, discovering Bon Homme, various trails and the I-29 cultural corridor.

Also featured is a calendar of events that users can sort by their interests.

Fuks says the $20,000 or so spent on the new site is money well spent.
