SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
A float supporting traditional marriage cruised through the "Big Parade" in downtown Sioux City a few days ago. The float was sponsored by the Common Sense Political Action Committee.
Matthew Ung, supporter of the float said, "We want to advocate for giving the people of Iowa a voice and the right to vote on the issue of marriage."
After some criticized the city for allowing this type of political float in the Big Parade, Ung told us he heard the float would be banned from the upcoming River-Cade Parade.
Ung added, "No matter your message, whether you're a gay rights activist or a you're a Christian fundamentalist, I don't think that's appropriate. I don't think it's appropriate to deny an application that has already been accepted."
The River-Cade Board told us that's not true.
They say they never banned the float from their parade.
Phil Claeys, River-Cade, "There has been no censorship from River-Cade in this issue, none at all ."
So, now, traditional marriage supporter Matthew Ung says he heard the float "will be" allowed in the parade on Wednesday, July18th.
"Yes, were still going to be in the parade and it doesn't change our message at all," said Ung.
