MADISON, Neb. (KTIV/US92) -
Siouxlanders have started to get out and enjoy the county fair season. But, attendees at one Nebraska fair might enjoy it a little more than usual this year.
The Nebraska State Treasurer's office has set up a booth at the Madison County Fair, in Madison, Neb., to see if attendees have any unclaimed assets waiting for them.
The group says over $100 million has gone unclaimed statewide, and they're running an awareness campaign to get residents the money they're entitled to.
In Madison County alone, more than $616,000 is waiting to be claimed.
The booth will be up all week. If you can't make it to the fair, though, check out the treasurer's website. That also goes for residents of Iowa and South Dakota.
Officials say the average claim for Nebraskans will be around $400. Some residents have upwards of $10,000 waiting for them.
