Food for Veterans program starts in Siouxland

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -

A new effort is being launched to help Siouxland veterans called Food for Veterans.

Support Siouxland Soldiers says the new initiative will provide a week's worth of free groceries in an on-going basis to local Veterans and their families.

The first pick-up date is Saturday, July 14th from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at New Life Lutheran Church in Sgt. Bluff.  That's on 1st and Baker Streets across from the Dollar General.
