Man suspected in death of SD child has Sioux City ties

A federal fugitive, with ties to Sioux City, is behind bars charged in the death of a 2-year-old in Wagner, South Dakota.

21-year-old Taylor Cournoyer faces one count of "failure to notify law enforcement of death of child."

Investigators won't say how the child's death happened, only they've deemed the girl's death a homicide.

Cournoyer was also wanted by the Woodbury County Sheriff's Office for "contempt of court" and "failure to appear for trial" on theft charges.
