Spetlar Tonga recorded 19 tackles in the Bandits 56-34 APFL title victory.
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
The defensive leader for this undefeated Sioux City Bandits team, Spetlar Tonga recorded a season-high 19 tackles in Sioux City's championship victory over the Council Bluffs Express.
But the 32-year old linebacker is now pondering retirement.
Despite missing eight games this season with a knee injury, Tonga led a defensive unit that held opponents to a little more than 24 points per game.
Recording 56 total tackles this season, Tonga pushed his career total to 635.
No better way to call it a career than after back-to-back undefeated championship seasons, but he's leaving the decision up to "the boss."
"Like I told everyone, I have to talk to the boss, and that's my wife," Tonga said. "If she allows me to play another year then I'll be back. But, if I don't end up coming back, then you know what her answer was."
