SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
Sioux City leaders have voted to rescind an agreement with Woodbury County over the future of an industrial park outside city limits.
In order for the county to use tax increment financing to lure businesses to their Liberty Industrial Park, they need the city's approval.
That's because the planned business park is within two miles of city limits.
The city agreed, in exchange for support from the county for interchange near its own industrial park, Southbridge.
City leaders say the county has indicated they are no longer interested in the additional interchange.
Saying "the rules have changed" council members voted Monday to pull their support of Liberty Industrial Park.
