Estherville-Lincoln Central advanced to Thursday's Class 3A semifinals with an 8-2 win over seventh-ranked East Marshall in first round action at the state softball tournament.
The Midgets scored three runs each in the second and third innings, with Sadie Winter collecting a RBI double in both frames.
Kendall Bosch went 3-for-4 at the plate and got the win on the mound.
E-LC will face number-1 Solon (36-6) in the semifinals on Thursday at 3:00 PM.

Emmetsburg gave up five runs in the second inning and five more in the third and opened the Class 2A state softball tournament with an 11-0 loss to Des Moines Christian on Monday.
The fifth-ranked Lions put together their fourth straight shutout against the fifth-ranked E-Hawks. Des Moines Christian pitcher Leah Harris allowed four hits and struck out seven E-Hawk batters.
Emmetsburg (32-10) will now play unranked Denver in a consolation game at 10:00 AM on Wednesday.
