Hot weather and drought has Nebraska farmers looking for help

Farmers and homeowners discuss a shortage of well water in northeast Nebraska. The Lower Elkhorn Natural Resources District held a forum Wednesday night in Norfolk. The NRD has received 80 complaints of well shortages this year alone. That's the most it has ever dealt with. District officials say they'd like to see domestic users and irrigators work together to find some common ground.

Two River-Cade parade entries center on marriage rights

It created a stir at The Big Parade two weeks ago and Wednesday night, the traditional marriage float was back in the River-Cade parade. The float urges Iowa lawmakers to allow a public vote on a constitutional amendment defining marriage as "between one man, and one woman." In response, members of Sioux City's gay community marched in the parade, too. They say they want equality for everyone and wanted people along the parade route to recognize that.
