Sioux Falls events center construction to begin Monday

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) -

Construction of a $115 million events center in South Dakota's largest city is scheduled to begin on Monday.
The Sioux Falls facility, which will seat 12,000 for concerts and basketball games, is expected to be completed by fall of 2014.
City officials say the project's prime contractor, Mortensen Construction, will provide quarterly updates on the building progress.
Sioux Falls voters last November approved a proposal to use money from a city sales tax already in place to help pay for the center.
