Estherville-Lincoln Central lost to Solon, 1-0, in a Class 3A semifinal at the state softball tournament on Thursday. Emi Bransky scored the only run of the game in the first inning. Bransky started the game with a double off of ELC pitcher Kendall Bosch and scored on a single by Aly Rickels.
Bosch gave up just four hits in the game and struck out five. Three of those hits came in the first inning.
Arran Weeces was the winning pitcher for top-ranked Solon, giving up just three hits with five strikeouts. Sadie Winter had two hits for ELC and Macy Dahl had one.
Fifth-ranked Estherville Lincoln Central will play third-ranked Bondurant-Farrar in the Class 3A runner-up game on Friday at 1:30 PM. Solon will face Ballard in the title game at 2:30.
