SOUTH SIOUX CITY, Neb. (KTIV) -
From the east coast to the west coast, a different group of riders has rolled into Siouxland.
About 31 bicyclists stopped in South Sioux City for rest.
They're with Bike and Build, an organization that raises awareness about affordable housing.
Five weeks ago, the group left Rhode Island on their way to Seattle.
About once a week they will stop at Habitat for Humanity build sites and help out.
"We hear about the children that they have, or sort of their background and thinking about how they're going to be in this wonderful home once it's done is just really incredible to see," said Annie LaVigne, Boston rider.
Each rider had to raise at least $4,500 to take part.
They then donate some of that money to an affordable housing group of their choice.
The riders come from all over the U.S. and there's even one from Taiwan.
