SIOUX CENTER, Iowa (KTIV) -
When you're traveling more than 400 miles in a week, you need a place to spend the night.
Shuttleguy will be making the trek across the state of Iowa along with the riders this week.
It offers services like chairs, air mattresses, tents and snacks throughout the day. Right now, it has 65 tents. Some of the tents can hold up to 4 people.
The group does many of these trips every summer at a cost of about $400 per person. Members say you can't underestimate the importance of a good night's sleep during a trek like RAGBRAI.
"Riding all week, you want a good night's sleep. I know that. I've done a lot of hard, week-long exercising and you want a good night's sleep," said Heather Riniker of Dodgeville, Wisc.
The group will also supply a mattress or carry a rider's luggage for a smaller fee. Riders learn before they leave each town, where Shuttleguy will be set up that evening
