State Patrol says weather not the factor they feared in Day One of ride

So far, there are no major injuries to report on RAGBRAI.

The Iowa State Patrol will be keeping track of incidents through the week.

Sergeant Scott Bright said Sunday afternoon that a handful of bikes had fallen over resulting in scraped knees.

He said there was a nice breeze, and that several cyclists commented that the weather was not as big of a factor as they had feared. There were no weather-related injuries as of Sunday.
