St. Paul pounded Sioux City, 14-2, in the final game of their four-game series at Lewis and Clark Park on Monday night.
St. Paul (31-29) scored five runs in the first inning off of X's starting pitcher Jason Jarvis and never trailed. The Saints scored in every inning except the second, seventh and ninth. Jarvis lasted just three innings, giving up seven runs on eight hits.
Sioux City did score two runs in the first inning but never scored again. Kris Sanchez drew a bases loaded walk and Ray Serrano drove in a run with a sacrifice fly to center field. The X's also committed three errors.
The X's (28-35) start a six-game road trip in Gary, Indiana, on Tuesday.
