WASHINGTON, D.C. (KTIV) -
Republicans in Congress are renewing their push for a permit to build part of the controversial Keystone XL oil pipeline.
If passed, the bill would allow builders to move forward with a section of the pipeline-- across Montana and South Dakota-- without the president's approval.
President Obama rejected the proposed permit earlier this year.
The government is waiting on an environmental review of the route-- from Nebraska to Canada-- before it moves forward.
House Republicans already tried to get a similar bill through earlier this year. But, it didn't clear the Democratic-led Senate.
