Whiting, Iowa man killed in welding accident

NEAR WHITING, Iowa (KTIV) -

The Monona County Sheriff's Department confirms a Whiting, Iowa man has died after a welding accident.

Monona County Communications received a call a 1:25 Tuesday. The caller said a man had been shocked while welding at 23264 160th Street east of Whiting.

When emergency crews arrived they found 40 year-old Tracy Brenden of Whiting lying in front of the front of the building. According to witnesses, Brenden was welding when something went wrong with the equipment and shocked him.

Paramedics tried to revive Brenden, but couldn't and he died.

No word yet on funeral arrangements for Brenden.
