A Cherokee, Iowa man has died in a crash in a construction zone on Highway 59 in Ida County.

The Iowa State Patrol says several cars were waiting in line for a pilot car to escort them through the work zone about 4-30 yesterday afternoon. That's when they say a semi driven by 46-year-old Gordon Draskovic of Ontario, Canada collided with the back of a car driven by 75-year-old Larry Watts of Cherokee, Iowa. It caused a chain reaction of collisions.

Watts was pronounced dead at the scene.

Four other drivers were taken to the Cherokee hospital for treatment of their injuries.
