UPDATE: Enjoy a sweet ice cream treat for Children's Miracle Network Miracle Treat Day

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -

There's good reason to treat yourself to a cool concoction. Thursday is "Children's Miracle Network 'Miracle Treat Day."

All you do is buy a blizzard at any participating Siouxland Dairy Queen. A dollar or more of the proceeds will go to the St. Luke's Children's Miracle Network.

Officials say it benefits sick and healthy kids alike.

"You can still have your blizzards for the same price but you just know that they're going towards a good cause today," said Brittany Wellman, Children's Miracle Network intern.

Since 1983, through programs like this, Children's Miracle Network Hospitals have raised more than $4 billion.
