Iowa DNR to help drought stricken livestock producers

Posted:
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources will open up more land for Iowa farmers who have been hurt by the drought.

They will allow haying and grazing on up to 6,000 acres of grasslands, enrolled in the Wetland Reserve Program.

This will help farmers with haying and grazing to feed livestock.

Farmers can start after August 2nd when the primary nesting season has been completed.
