Richard Salazar picked up his fifth win of the season.
LINCOLN, Neb. (KTIV) -
Richard Salazar tossed eight innings of shutout baseball and Ryan Priddy provided the power, clubbing his sixth home run of the season, as Sioux City defeated Lincoln 1-0 at Haymarket Park Friday night.
Salazar gave up just four hits and fanned eight as the X's picked up their sixth shutout of the season.
Lincoln's Wade Mackey scattered six hits over hits eight innings of work and struck out five.
Scoreless after four innings, with out one out in the top of the fifth, on a 1-0 count Priddy connected for his sixth round-tripper to give Sioux City a 1-0 lead.
All but three X's notched hits. Yusuke Inoguchi finished 2-for-4.
Chris Bodishbaugh struck out two and pitched a flawless ninth to record his 14th save of the year.
The win was much needed for Sioux City, which had lost seven of its last 10 heading into to Friday's game.
The X's and Saltdogs resume their three game series Saturday.
