Alain Quijano took the loss for the X's and falls to 2-6 on the season.
LINCOLN, Neb. (KTIV) -
Trailing 4-1 heading into the bottom of the seventh inning, the Lincoln Saltdogs erupted for 10 runs and shut Sioux City out the rest of the way for the 11-4 win Sunday night at Haymarket Park.
Clinging to a 1-0 lead in the fourth, Ryan Priddy blasted his second home run of the series, a three-run shot, to put the X's on top 4-0. The homer was Priddy's only hit of the day.
Lincoln scored its first run in the sixth to pull within 4-1 on an RBI single from Jimmy Rohan.
After a lead-off single to start the seventh, Lincoln's Mike Provencher crushed a two-run home run of his own to pull the Saltdogs to within 4-3.
Three batters later, with the bases loaded, starter Alain Quijano was lifted for reliever Eddie De la Cruz.
The first batter he would face, De la Cruz hit Matt Smith, driving in the tying run.
With the bases still loaded, the very next batter De la Cruz walked Jimmy Rohan, allowing the go-ahead run to score.
In total, Lincoln would nearly bat around twice in the inning, sending 14 batters to plate.
The victory clinches the Saltdogs third series victory of the season.
Sioux City falls to 30-39.
The X's have an off day Monday and return to the field Tuesday to begin a six-game homestand.
