Two Madison County Nebraska men expected in court Monday morning

MADISON COUNTY, Neb. (KTIV) -

Two Madison County Nebraska men are expected in district court Monday morning.

The first is for Carlos Arevelo-Martinez of Norfolk, who is accused of shooting and wounding Edna Gutierrez at her Norfolk home this past Valentines Day. Two days after the shooting, Arevelo-Martinez then held police at bay during a stand-off in Stanton, Nebraska. During a hearing last month, the Judge delayed the pre-trial hearing for Arevelo-Martinez so his defense attorney could complete a deposition.

The second pre-trial hearing is for Todd Jennings, the former police chief in Newman Grove, Nebraska. Jennings is being charged with terroristic threats and possession of a firearm after authorities say he shot out the back window of a vehicle occupied by four people in Tilden last January. No one was hurt in the incident.
