Ex-Nebraska employee gets week in jail for DUI - KTIV News 4 Sioux City IA: News, Weather and Sports

A former state employee who wrecked a government truck last fall will spend a week in jail, pay a $50,000 fine and lose his driver's license for six months after being convicted of drunken driving.
   The Lincoln Journal Star reports that 31-year-old Waylon Hullinger was sentenced last week. He pleaded no contest to drunken driving in June.
   The Lincoln man who worked for the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality drove his state-owned pickup into a field last November. Hullinger told investigators that he had swerved to avoid a deer, but officials believed he was driving under the influence of alcohol.
   Hullinger no longer works for the state.
   Hullinger received pretrial diversion on four other charges: criminal mischief, tampering with physical evidence, false reporting and unauthorized operation of a vehicle.
